BID Programs + Services

The Jerome Gun Hill BID provides a wide variety of services to the small businesses along Jerome Avenue and East Gun Hill Road (view district map). With a focus on beautification, sanitation, small business support, and community events the BID works to foster a cleaner, greener, and more engaging corridor for all.

Beautification

Our planter program spans the entire BID with large self-watering planters featuring plants and flowers that change with the seasons. In the summer keep an eye out for blooming annuals, mums in the fall, ornamental kale and cabbage in the winter months, and pansies for spring. Our planters are watered and maintained by a contracted landscaping company and they are cleaned by our Clean Team.

Sanitation

The BID provides supplemental sanitation along East Gun Hill Road and Jerome Avenue 7 days a week. Our Clean Team clears litter from the sidewalks, empties trash receptacles, and clears snow during the winter months. In addition the BID provides graffiti removal services within the district.

Small Business Support

The BID offers a wide array of free small business support resources to merchants. From marketing and advertising support to grants for storefront improvement projects the BID is here to help small businesses thrive. For more information, check out our Small Business Resources page.

Community Events

Throughout the year the BID hosts free events for small business owners and community members alike. Each year we close down Jerome Avenue and have our annual Fall Festival, attended by thousands of Bronxites. In December, in partnership with Council Member Andrew Cohen, the BID has a tree lighting and gift giveaway. In addition to these signature events the BID also supports merchants in executing promotional events such as a kickoff for a new lunch special or a fashion show for prom and graduation season.
